Update the Classics (Don’t Hate Coco!).

Some things never go out of style. A classic blazer, clean cut white button down, red lips, sky high stilettos (clear, plastic platforms are not included), diamonds and on and on.

While Coco Chanel certainly could not have envisioned this gorgeous 3.1 Phillip Lim Motorcross Jacket that I’m currently obsessed with, it does work to replace the classic straight-cut blazer that Chanel made oh so chic. Check out some of the other modernized versions of closet staples featuring Burberry, Alexander Wang and DVF.

Refinery29 has six ways to revamp the classic styles to 2012 here.

Wet Haute American Summer.

Chandon recently released its new American Summer limited edition (available only June 1st through September 1st) champagne bottle that celebrates the upcoming season. According to Chandon’s site “Chandon’s Brut Classic is well known for its citrus spices layered over notes of almond and caramel and makes for a refreshing treat on a hot summer’s day.” Sounds good to us.

Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet was so inspired by the couture bottle that she designed a $352 romper inspired by the bottle (seen above). Stripes are so in this season.

Camping? No. Glamping? yes.

I grew up camping (not by choice) in the Northern Maine woods where towns (no such thing as a city in the state of Maine) are not towns but are appropriately named “Township No. 41” or “Township No. 28”. The camping I was originally accustomed to (think build-your-own-tents) was upgraded years later to cabins. And these were by no means the cabins most recently seen on a RHOBH ‘clamping’ episode. My cabins had no electricity, no running water and worst of all, no mirrors. Death in the Maine woods.

In the last five years or so “clamping” has become a recent trend. Forget about fending for yourself to find dinner for the night JustLuxe has a few other suggestions for you instead such as picking your own wild berries to infuse into your bottle of Dom (definitely on the camping packing list, right?).

Networking Over Polish

Say so long to the menotinous lunch time networking meetings. Helloooo mani/pedi date. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that professional women in NYC are forgoing the routine lunch dates and local Starbucks and instead having manicure meetings.

FINALLY, you don’t need to schedule in your bi-weekly Shellac in between multiple apreswork cocktail hours, cardio kickboxing and grocery shopping. Pencil it in between your 2 o’clock and 3pm conference call! The next time you get an email asking to discuss a contract or upcoming event suggest meeting up at your go to girl on Newbury. Men may have their corporate golf outings, but ladies we have our own thing to do. Toughest decision to make during the “meeting”? Essie or OPI?
